Cal Morton - President/Owner
A 16 year veteran of the solar industry, Cal has worked in consulting and sales executive positions in several companies across Texas. While working for the largest residential solar company in Houston in 2017, Cal and his sons, Reece and Luke, began installing solar systems for friends and family in the Palestine area, Cal's home town. It became apparent that Palestine and east Texas towns did not have a great local choice for a trust worthy installer and were instead being serviced by overpriced companies from Dallas, Houston or even out of state. In 2018 Cal founded EasTex Solar, and has grown consistently to become east Texas’s number one choice for local family solar installers, developing a stellar online reputation and relationship with clients in the east Texas community.
Reece Morton - Solar Consultant

Reece first stepped into the solar industry as a PV installer on a large government project for the veteran's hospital in downtown Houston in 2013. Working alongside Cal and Luke, Reece has led installations across Houston, Dallas and east Texas before moving to a consulting position in 2019. With Reece's extensive hands- on experience building systems for years, combined with knowledge and expertise gained from training with Cal, puts him in a great position to advise folks on anything from equipment choices and system sizing, to retail energy providers and financing options. Working closely with prospects and customers to not only design systems around your goals, but to help you gain a deep understanding of how solar works and the capabilities and limitations of the system for your property.
Xochytl (so-chi) Ramirez
Operations Manager
Xochytl joined the Morton family when she and Reece got engaged in 2017. However, It wasn't until 2021 that Cal convinced her to join the family company! Xochytl has worked in management roles for years, including Accounts Payable Manager for half a decade at a large construction company Dallas. Just as Eastex Solar was ending its 4th year of business and seeing a rapid increase in projects, Xochytl took over Operations just when we needed her the most. As Operations Manager, Xochytl handles all permits, Utility agreements, invoicing, loan applications and installation scheduling essentially keeping all projects organized from the point of contract to the systems final inspection!
The Crew
Eastex Solar's entire installation team is made up of salary employees, we never subcontract, with all crew members trained from within the company. Installation crews are led by Cal’s younger son Luke Morton, a Journeyman electrician with over 12 years solar experience. Also in a lead position on installations is Al Kaulia, one of our best technicians due to his attention to detail and extensive Sol-ark inverter experience. Amongst our installation crews are additional family members, neighbors and family friends that have joined the Eastex Solar team over the years. All installation crew members are OSHA certified and Licensed Electrical apprentices.
